HOME IS WHERE THE PETS ARE. That is exactly how it is with me. My cats and dogs live together in harmony, more so than us humans and we coin that silly expression "fight like cats and dogs". You should see how my 4 dogs and gazillion cats -- I do have very many -- get along. In fact, recently even the neighbour's chickens are happy to join my lot and I must say my little Titam, a cute little mongrel, hate it when the chicken decide to enjoy their own garden.
My home is more or less a pet shelter. In fact, some years back, we even had a stray dog until my Bonzo grew up and took exception to his presence. Unfortunately, when he did decide to leave for good he took with Bonzo's brother Sandy. I don't know where Sandy is today but I do hope that wherever he is God keeps him.
This veritable menagerie of pets are joined daily by what comes naturally. I have birds naturally, from sparrows to kingfisher. Mornings are such a pleasure as the chirping of birds wake me up and I know that God's gift to man is for the taking. Snakes, too, are another of God's creatures natural to my environment. Only some days back we had to removed a sleeping yellow and black snake coiled around the iron grill of the maid's room. Prior to that my fantastic little Titam killed a cobra, not a very big one, but still, a cobra nonetheless. I was so sorry for the cobra but my little Titam was spectacular as the ferocious little guardian angel. I'll tell you about that episode in some detail one of these days.
Anyway, this is by way of introduction to our little haven. Well, at least now that is what we are. I'll tell you more about each one of them as we go along.
